Can I please have a couple extra hours in each day…

It seems the last two weeks have been brutal, my energy levels have really suffered. I feel like all I do is eat (cook), train, and a tiny bit of sleep. I have been trying to get back on schedule from being sick, and getting my trainer sick which means squeezing in those missed workout somewhere (working through the rest days). I work full-time and have to be to the office by 8:30am. So my days have been starting about 5:30 so that I can pound down a glass of water and cup of coffee before I jet out the door the gym to get in some cardio. I have been alternating days with 30 mins on the stairmill or 30 min of HIIT on the treadmill. I then back to the house for a quick shower, wake the sleeping boy, fix breakfast, put hair in ponytail, find any miss placed items a 15 yr boy losses from the time he walks in the door till the next morning, kiss him goodbye, grab my food for the day, and back to the car for a 40 min commute to work. Man I am already tired. I work my 9 hours and back in the car to the gym I go. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I drive an hour plus to work out with my trainer, so it is normally 7:00 pm by time I arrive ready to workout. Thank goodness this is the part of my day I love…no matter how tired I am or how crappy the day has been, I look forward to see Chris and training hard, otherwise I would never be able to make that commute! We normally work out for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, then I have another 45 min drive home. Now I am home it’s almost 10:00 pm I quickly eat, chat with the boy and husband about their day and any homework, play with the puppies,  then drag myself upstairs to wind down before bed knowing I am going to do it again tomorrow. On the days I don’t workout with my trainer I gain 2 extra hours from not commuting but those seem to be gobbled up from laundry, dishes, and giving my boys a little attention. I never seem to get in bed with the lights out before 11:30. I can tell you that 6 hours of sleep is just not enough for me. Something is going to have to give, just not sure what it’s going to be just yet.

Since I added the early morning cardio back to my routine (mind you it’s only 30 min earlier than without) I have really noticed that I am leaning out much quicker. So it is hard to give up results. I am hoping by taking 2 rest days in a row this week, then separating my rest days the following week it will give my body enough time to recover. The last thing I want to do is compromise my heavy lifting days, especially since I am seeing a difference in size (whoot whoot for growing big).

So here’s to praying that Friday night comes quickly and I get a nice 10 hours of sleep both Friday and Sat night. If that happens I will be more than ready to tackle the following week…if not I will be like the walking dead and that will only put me further behind on my workouts. Can’t have that!

    Bless … thankfully I got used to getting no sleep when the kidlets were born. I remember when they were teeny being thankful for three hours (in a row).

    Now they are bigger its great because I usually get at least four hours between cries 🙂

    Hopefully you get some much needed sleep!

    Wow, that IS dedication! Great job. That right there can give anyone hope and motivation because come on, what person doesn’t have an extra 30 minutes a day to workout after seeing that! Good for you!!

  4. That is a super-sonic schedule you keep. Amazing. I’m tired just from reading about it. But I can hear your dedication, and it’s great that the work-outs are something that you love no matter how tired you are. You’re doing great!
